31 May 2010 A new search engine for privacy and compliance officers to find out if there are peer-to-peer file sharing clients on their networks has just been launched. A user can enter a domain name and find out if there are any IP addresses within that domain with one or more p2p clients on the Gnutella p2p network.
4 April 2010 The medical data breach dashblard has been updated with all breaches going up to the end of December 2009. This interactive tool allows users to look at trends and distributions of medical data breaches through a simple interface.
18 March 2010 Our lab is launching a new webinar series in April 2010. These will be over lunch EST with free registration. Their purpose is to provide live presentations of our work and other colleagues' work that is relevant to our research and knowledge translation agenda.
3 March 2010 A study just published examines the leaks of PHI from peer-to-peer file sharing program users in the US and Canada, and compares that to leaks of financial information. The article also examines the ethical issues in collecting personal information from the Internet without consent, and what the considerations should be.
